Bacon Apple Stuffing - Brian´s Personal Recipe Featured

Try this recipe for a terrific zabaglione, but make sure to start with fresh raspberries and a hearty appetite. This should yield approximately eight servings.

Yield serves 6-8 people

Ingredients

  • Butter..... 1 Tb.
  • Salt..... 1 tsp.
  • Ground pepper..... 1/4 tsp.
  • Onion, minced..... 1 cup
  • Celery, diced..... 1 /2 cup
  • Bacon, raw, diced..... 1 lb.
  • Apples, peeled, diced..... 4
  • Raisins, plumped..... 3/4 cup
  • White Bread, cubed..... 1 loaf
  • Milk, whole..... 1 1/2 cups
  • Eggs, cracked..... 3
  • Parsley, chopped fresh..... 2 Tb.

Method

  1. In a sauté pan melt the butter over medium heat. Season the butter with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the onions and raw bacon and cook until the onions become clear and the bacon gets somewhat cooked and slightly soft. Stir frequently.
  3. Add the diced apples and raisins, remove form the heat and set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl combine the bread cubes and the milk and let the bread soak for 10 minutes.
  5. In a baking dish combine the onion/bacon mixture with the diced apple/raisin and soaked bread.
  6. Gently incorporate the eggs and parsley into the stuffing.
  7. Bake in a 325 degree oven for about an hour and serve warm.
